Every February, the Career and Technical Education community celebrates CTE Month to raise awareness of the role that CTE has in preparing our students for careers and college. Each week in the month of February, LJH will highlight one of our CTE programs! Up first, we wish to celebrate the work of Ms. Calise and her Exploring Family and Consumer Science students!
Exploring Family and Consumer Science gives students the opportunity to learn lifelong skills and highly sought after trades in the field of design, entertainment, and fashion. To meet these career needs students work with computers and machines of the trade to create multiple projects to include apron, pillows, and PJ pants.
Family and Consumer Science also gives students the opportunity to explore careers within the field of Interior design. After using technology to design a virtual dream bedroom, students must recreate the room in a 3-D format. Students love the challenge!
Within each Family and Consumer Science, FCCLA class club chapters give students the opportunity to lead others, develop new skills, explore new skills and career opportunities, build strong families and to give back to our communities. Fundraisers are selected by the students after researching the needs within our community.
In celebration of the 100th day of school, Lakeside Junior High teachers identified students who help us ELEVATE Lakeside every single day! Today LJH administrators made 100 positive phone calls home to show just how much we appreciate them embodying what it means to be a Lakeside Gator!
